Planning Meaningful Funerals & Sacred Burial

15 mins.

This talk provides inspiration and practical information about the funeral rite and sacred burial. Making pre-need burial and funeral arrangements today ensures important decisions will not be made in a time of sorrow. Preparation is an act of love and care for the family.

Speakers: Peter Nobes

Peter is the Director of Catholic cemeteries, a ministry of hope and healing. He will share insights and wisdom from his tenure managing the Gardens of Gethsemani. He’ll speak to the importance of preparation and how our Church offers hope and meaning in the beauty of the funeral Mass followed by sacred burial. Peter will offer insights from his thesis work, “Life without End.”

Saturday, April 27, 10-11:30 a.m.
Blessed Sacrament Parish, Vancouver

This talk will discuss estate planning and its objectives, the importance of the Will, how to choose an Executor, the duties and responsibilities of an Executor, the Probate (process, fees and how to avoid), the Power of Attorney, guardianship, and some advance healthcare planning tips. It will also provide a perspective on the importance and benefits of leaving a legacy (charitable giving) and describe different ways to give with attendant tax benefits.

It will end with discussing the Estate Planning guide, which will help you jumpstart creating a new Will or reviewing an old one.
